The Management of the Wind Power Lubrication System Looks Forward to Transformation

28 Sep 01,2017 Industry News

The wind turbine is a large high-precision, high-value operating equipment, with all bearings, gears and other parts in frequent start-and-stop, high load, and continuous operating conditions. Wind power plants are mostly concentrated in remote areas with tremendous wind resources, such as mountains, wilderness, beaches, and islands, etc., which can cause serious damage to the equipment with poor natural environment. Besides, the equipment is high and it is inconvenient to maintain. So, it puts forward higher and stricter requirements for equipment service and maintenance.

Good wind power lubrication systems are of great importance to extend the service life of wind turbine transmission parts, lower operation and maintenance costs, guarantee the normal operation of wind turbine generators, and improve economic benefit. With continuous improvement of the quality requirements of wind turbine generators, the lubrication system will certainly become an important subject in the field of wind power and gets innovated and developed constantly.

Zhao Daping, Chairman of AUTOL, said that the variable propeller and yaw part in wind fields in China now generally adopts the lubrication methods combining spring-piston pump casings and increment type distributors and that many problems existed in the actual application process. First, the “timing and quantitative” lubrication method of traditional lubrication system cannot meet the requirement difference for every part of the wind turbine generators, thus causing poor lubrication in some parts and over lubrication in some other parts. Second, most of the wind field environment in China is harsh, and the auxiliary pressure oil technology of the spring pressure-oil pan adopted in the lubrication pump in the market has limited effects, so that depletion and stall of the lubrication pump usually occurs in low-pressure or cold environment, so as not to guarantee valid lubrication for parts of the wind turbine. Besides, increment type distributors generally used in the traditional lubrication system are limited by the structure, so that blockage may occur, directly causing invalid lubrication for other lubrication parts.

AUTOL has been actively promoting enterprises to conduct lubrication health management, devoted to setting up systematic standard thinking, and formulate a relevant lubrication management system and technical standards, so that the enterprise can conduct justifiable lubrication management. Besides, AUTOL evaluates the lubrication effect and gradually develops and improves industry-recognized lubrication management systems for wind power equipment.
